8:13 그 이튿날 뭇 백성의 족장들과 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 율법의 말씀을 밝히 알고자 하여 학사 에스라에게 모여서
8:14 율법에 기록된 바를 본즉 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 명령하시기를 이스라엘 자손은 일곱째 달 절기에 초막에서 거할지니라 하였고
8:15 또 일렀으되 모든 성읍과 예루살렘에 공포하여 이르기를 너희는 산에 가서 감람나무 가지와 들감람나무 가지와 화석류나무 가지와 종려나무 가지와 기타 무성한 나무 가지를 가져다가 기록한 바를 따라 초막을 지으라 하라 한지라
8:16 백성이 이에 나가서 나뭇가지를 가져다가 혹은 지붕 위에, 혹은 뜰 안에, 혹은 하나님의 전 뜰에, 혹은 수문 광장에, 혹은 에브라임 문 광장에 초막을 짓되
8:17 사로잡혔다가 돌아온 회중이 다 초막을 짓고 그 안에서 거하니 눈의 아들 여호수아 때로부터 그 날까지 이스라엘 자손이 이같이 행한 일이 없었으므로 이에 크게 기뻐하며
8:18 에스라는 첫날부터 끝날까지 날마다 하나님의 율법책을 낭독하고 무리가 이레 동안 절기를 지키고 여덟째 날에 규례를 따라 성회를 열었느니라

8:13 이튿날에, 모든 백성을 대표하는 각 가문의 어른들이 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 함께 율법의 말씀을 밝히 알고자 하여, 학자 에스라에게로 갔다.
8:14 그들은, 이스라엘 자손은 일곱째 달 축제에는 초막에서 지내도록 하라는, 주께서 모세를 시켜서 명하신 말씀이 율법에 기록되어 있는 것을 발견하였다.
8:15 또한 그들은 책에, 산으로 가서 올리브 나무와 들올리브 나무와 소귀나무와 종려나무와 참나무의 가지를 꺽어다가, 초막을 짓도록 하라는 말이 기록되어 있기 때문에, 그 말을 이스라엘 자손이 사는 모든 마을과 예루살렘에 널리 알려야 한다는 것을 알게 되었다.
8:16 그래서 백성은 나가서, 나뭇가지를 꺽어다가, 지붕 위와 마당과 하나님의 성전 뜰과 수문 앞 광장과 에브라임 문 앞 광장에 초막을 세웠다.
8:17 사로잡혀 갔다가 돌아온 모든 사람이 초막을 세우고 거기에 머물렀다. 눈의 아들 여호수아 때로부터 그 날까지, 이렇게 축제를 즐긴 일이 없었으므로, 이스라엘 자손은 크게 즐거워하였다.
8:18 에스라는 첫날로부터 마지막 날까지, 날마다 하나님의 율법책을 읽어 주었다. 백성은 이레 동안 절기를 지키고, 여드레째 되는 날에는 규례대로 성회를 열었다.

8:17 사로잡혔다가 돌아온 회 무리가 다 초막을 짓고 그 안에 거하니 눈의 아들 여호수아 때로부터 그 날까지 이스라엘 자손이 이같이 행함이 없었으므로 이에 크게 즐거워하며
8:18 에스라는 첫날부터 끝날까지 날마다 하나님의 율법책을 낭독하고 무리가 칠 일 동안 절기를 지키고 제 팔 일에 규례를 따라 성회를 열었느니라

8:13 이튿날 사제들과 레위인들과 일반 백성 전부를 대표한 각 가문의 어른들이 선비 에즈라에게 모여 와서 법전에 기록되어 있는 말씀을 공부 하다가,
8:14 야훼께서 이스라엘 백성에게 칠월 절기에는 초막에서 지내도록 모세를 시켜 법으로 분부하신 것을 알게 되었다.
8:15 그들은 이 말을 듣고 하나도 빠짐없이 저희의 성읍들과 예루살렘에 다음과 같은 전갈을 보냈다. "산에 가서 올리브나무 가지, 들올리브 나무 가지, 소귀나무 가지, 종려나무 가지, 참나무 가지를 꺾어다가 책에 있는 대로 초막을 만들어라."
8:16 백성들은 나가서 나무 가지들을 꺾어다가 옥상이나 마당이나 하느님의 성전 뜰 아래나 수문 앞 광장이나 에브라임성 문 광장 할 것 없이 어디에서나 저마다 자기의 초막을 만들었다.
8:17 사로잡혀 가다가 돌아 온 사람들인 온 회중은 이렇게 초막을 만들고 그 안에서 지냈다. 이스라엘 백성이 이렇듯이 성대한 절기를 지키기는 눈의 아들 여호수아의 시대 이후로 그 날까지 없던 일이었다. 그러니 그 기쁨을 어찌 다 이를 수 있었으랴.
8:18 에즈라는 그동안 첫날부터 마지막 날까지 날마다 하느님의 법전을백성에게 들려 주었다. 그들은 칠 일간 절기를 지킨 다음 팔 일째되는 날 규정대로 폐회 예배를 드렸다.

8:13 그 다음 날 족장들과 제사장들과 레위인들이 율법의 말씀을 더 자세히 알기 위해 에스라를 찾아갔다.
8:14 그들은 율법책을 보다가 여호와께서 모세를 통해 이스라엘 백성에게 7월의 초막절 기간에는 초막에서 지내라고 명령하신 것을 알게 되었다.
8:15 그래서 그들은 예루살렘과 다른 모든 성에 이렇게 공고하였다. '여러분은 산으로 가서 감람나무, 도금양, 종려나무, 그 밖에 잎이 무성한 나무가지를 꺾어 율법책에 기록된 대로 초막을 지으시오.'
8:16 그러자 백성들은 가서 나뭇가지를 꺾어와 옥상이나 마당, 성전 뜰, 수문 옆 광장 또는 에브라임문 곁에 광장에 초막을 지었다.
8:17 이와 같이 포로로 잡혀갔다가 돌아온 모든 사람들이 초막을 짓고 그 안에서 지냈는데 눈의 아들 여호수아 시대 이후로 초막절을 이처럼 성대하게 지킨 적이 없었으므로 모든 백성들이 크게 기뻐하고 즐거워하였다.
8:18 에스라는 이 명절 7일 동안 매일 율법책을 낭독하였으며 8일째 되는 날에는 모세의 율법에 규정된 대로 모두 한자리에 모여 엄숙하게 폐회 예배를 드렸다.

8:13 On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to give attention to the words of the Law.
8:14 They found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to live in booths during the feast of the seventh month
8:15 and that they should proclaim this word and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem: "Go out into the hill country and bring back branches from olive and wild olive trees, and from myrtles, palms and shade trees, to make booths"--as it is written.
8:16 So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves booths on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim.
8:17 The whole company that had returned from exile built booths and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.
8:18 Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. They celebrated the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day, in accordance with the regulation, there was an assembly.

8:13 And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law.
8:14 And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:
8:15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as [it is] written.
8:16 So the people went forth, and brought [them], and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.
8:17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.
8:18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day [was] a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

8:13 Then on the second day the heads of fathers' [households] of all the people, the priests, and the Levites were gathered to Ezra the scribe that they might gain insight into the words of the law.
8:14 And they found written in the law how the LORD had commanded through Moses that the sons of Israel should live in booths during the feast of the seventh month.
8:15 So they proclaimed and circulated a proclamation in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, "Go out to the hills, and bring olive branches, and wild olive branches, myrtle branches, palm branches, and branches of [other] leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written."
8:16 So the people went out and brought [them] and made booths for themselves, each on his roof, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the square at the Water Gate, and in the square at the Gate of Ephraim.
8:17 And the entire assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in them. The sons of Israel had indeed not done so from the days of Joshua the son of Nun to that day. And there was great rejoicing.
8:18 And he read from the book of the law of God daily, from the first day to the last day. And they celebrated the feast seven days, and on the eighth day [there was] a solemn assembly according to the ordinance.
