4:15~24
4:15 여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하여 이르시되
4:16 증거궤를 멘 제사장들에게 명령하여 요단에서 올라오게 하라 하신지라
4:17 여호수아가 제사장들에게 명령하여 이르기를 요단에서 올라오라 하매
4:18 여호와의 언약궤를 멘 제사장들이 요단 가운데에서 나오며 그 발바닥으로 육지를 밟는 동시에 요단 물이 본 곳으로 도로 흘러서 전과 같이 언덕에 넘쳤더라
4:19 첫째 달 십일에 백성이 요단에서 올라와 여리고 동쪽 경계 길갈에 진 치매
4:20 여호수아가 요단에서 가져온 그 열두 돌을 길갈에 세우고
4:21 이스라엘 자손들에게 말하여 이르되 후일에 너희의 자손들이 그들의 아버지에게 묻기를 이 돌들은 무슨 뜻이니이까 하거든
4:22 너희는 너희의 자손들에게 알게 하여 이르기를 이스라엘이 마른 땅을 밟고 이 요단을 건넜음이라
4:23 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 요단 물을 너희 앞에서 마르게 하사 너희를 건너게 하신 것이 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 우리 앞에 홍해를 말리시고 우리를 건너게 하심과 같았나니
4:24 이는 땅의 모든 백성에게 여호와의 손이 강하신 것을 알게 하며 너희가 너희의 하나님 여호와를 항상 경외하게 하려 하심이라 하라

4:15 주께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다.
4:16 "증거궤를 메고 있는 제사장들에게 명령하여 요단 강에서 올라오게 하여라."
4:17 그래서 여호수아가 제사장들에게 요단 강에서 올라오라고 명령을 내렸다.
4:18 주의 언약궤를 멘 제사장들이 요단 강 가운데서 올라와서 제사장들의 발바닥이 마른 땅을 밟는 순간, 요단 강 물이 다시 원래대로 흘러 전과 같이 강둑에 넘쳤다.
4:19 백성이 첫째 달 열흘에 요단 강을 건너 여리고 동쪽 변두리 길갈에 진을 쳤다.
4:20 여호수아는 요단 강에서 가져 온 돌 열두 개를 길갈에 세우고,
4:21 이스라엘 자손에게 이렇게 말하였다. "너희 자손이 훗날 그 아버지들에게 이 돌들의 뜻이 무엇인지를 묻거든,
4:22 너희는 자손에게 이렇게 일러 알려 주어라. 이스라엘 백성이 이 요단 강을 마른 땅으로 건넜다.
4:23 우리가 홍해를 다 건널 때까지, 주 우리의 하나님이 요단 강 물을 마르게 하셨다.
4:24 그렇게 하신 것은, 땅의 모든 백성이 주의 능력이 얼마나 강하신가를 알도록 하고, 우리가 영원토록 주 우리의 하나님을 경외하도록 하려는 것이다."

4:19 정월 십일에 백성이 요단에서 올라와서 여리고 동편 지경 길갈에 진치매
4:20 여호수아가 그 요단에서 가져온 열두 돌을 길갈에 세우고
4:21 이스라엘 자손들에게 일러 가로되 후일에 너희 자손이 그 아비에게 묻기를 이 돌은 무슨 뜻이냐 하거든
4:22 너희는 자손에게 알게 하여 이르기를 이스라엘이 마른 땅을 밟고 이 요단을 건넜음이라
4:23 너희 하나님 여호와께서 요단 물을 너희 앞에 마르게 하사 너희로 건너게 하신 것이 너희 하나님 여호와께서 우리 앞에 홍해를 말리시고 우리로 건너게 하심과 같았나니
4:24 이는 땅의 모든 백성으로 여호와의 손이 능하심을 알게 하며 너희로 너희 하나님 여호와를 영원토록 경외하게 하려 하심이라 하라

4:15 야훼께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다.
4:16 "증거궤를 메고 있는 사제들에게 요르단강에서 나오라고 하여라."
4:17 여호수아가 사제들에게 요르단강에서 나오라고 명령하자,
4:18 야훼의 계약궤를 멘 사제들이 요르단강에서 나왔다. 그들의 발바닥이 마른 땅에 닿자마자 요르단강 물은 물길을 따라 이전과같이 양쪽 언덕에 철철 넘치도록 흘렀다.
4:19 백성이 요르단강에서 나와 예리고 동편 기갈에 진을 친 것은 정월십일이었다.
4:20 여호수아는 요르단강에서 메어 내온 돌 열 두 개를 길갈에 세우고
4:21 이스라엘 백성에게 말하였다. "훗날 너희의 후손이 이 돌들이 무엇이냐고 묻거든,
4:22 이스라엘이 이 요르단강을 발을 적시지 않고 건넌 일을 기념하는 것이라고 일러 주어라.
4:23 우리 하느님 야훼께서 우리 앞에서 홍해바다를 말리시어 우리가 모두 건너도록 해 주시지 않았느냐? 그처럼 우리 앞에서 요르단강물도 말리시어 우리로 건너게 해 주신 것이다.
4:24 그리하여 세상 모든 백성으로 하여금 야훼의 손이 얼마나 힘있으신가를 알게 하고 언제까지나 야훼 너희의 하느님을 두려워하게 하셨다."

4:15 여호와께서 여호수아에게 법궤를 멘 제사장들이 요단강에서 올라오게 하라고 말씀하셨으므로
4:16 (15절과 같음)
4:17 여호수아가 제사장들에게 강에서 나오라고 명령하였다.
4:18 그래서 그들이 강에서 올라와 육지를 밟는 순간 강물이 다시 흘러 전과 같이 강둑에 넘쳤다.
4:19 이 기적이 일어난 때는 1월 10일이었다. 그 날에 모든 이스라엘 백성은 요단강을 건너 여리고 동쪽에 위치한 길갈에 진을 쳤다.
4:20 여호수아는 요단강에서 가져온 12개의 돌을 그 곳에 기념비로 세우고
4:21 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '먼 훗날 여러분의 자녀들이 이것이 무슨 돌이냐고 묻거든
4:22 여러분은 그들에게 이와 같이 설명하십시오. 이 돌들은 이스라엘 백성이 마른 강바닥을 밟고 요단강을 건넜던 일을 상기시켜 주는 기념비란다.
4:23 우리 하나님 여호와께서 바로 우리가 지켜보는 가운데 강물을 말리시고 우리가 다 건널 때까지 그 강물이 흐르지 않게 하셨는데 이것은 전에 여호와께서 우리를 위해 홍해를 마르게 하신 것과 같았단다.
4:24 여호와께서 이와 같이 놀라운 일을 행하신 것은 세상에 사는 모든 민족에게 여호와의 위대하신 능력을 깨닫게 하고 또 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와를 영원히 두려운 마음으로 섬기도록 하기 위해서란다.'

4:15~24
4:15 Then the LORD said to Joshua,
4:16 "Command the priests carrying the ark of the Testimony to come up out of the Jordan."
4:17 So Joshua commanded the priests, "Come up out of the Jordan."
4:18 And the priests came up out of the river carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD. No sooner had they set their feet on the dry ground than the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and ran at flood stage as before.
4:19 On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.
4:20 And Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken out of the Jordan.
4:21 He said to the Israelites, "In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, 'What do these stones mean?'
4:22 tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.'
4:23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.
4:24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God."

4:15 And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,
4:16 Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
4:17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.
4:18 And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, [and] the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as [they did] before.
4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth [day] of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
4:20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.
4:21 And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What [mean] these stones?
4:22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
4:23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
4:24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it [is] mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.

4:15 Now the LORD said to Joshua,

4:18 And it came about when the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD had come up from the middle of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up to the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks as before.
4:19 Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth of the first month and camped at Gilgal on the eastern edge of Jericho.
4:20 And those twelve stones which they had taken from the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal.
4:21 And he said to the sons of Israel, "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What are these stones?'
4:22 then you shall inform your children, saying, 'Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.'
4:23 "For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as the LORD your God had done to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed;
4:24 that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, so that you may fear the LORD your God forever. "
